Many grafts are available. Any graft taken from the knee such as hamstring or bone patellar tendon or quadriceps tendon weakens the knee further. Your knee is already damaged, why take a graft from it also?

Hamstring grafts lead to hamstring pain and weakness. Bone patellar grafts lead to anterior knee pain. Quadriceps grafts weaken the quadriceps.

Now we use the latest which is peroneus longus grafts. This is special graft taken from ankle which prevents any damage to the knee. Also, there is no damage to ankle as it’s taken with a 1-2 cm incision. Many studies including our own systematic review have showed this.
